Norsk Spesialolje has the largest treatment plant for waste oil in Norway. The waste oil is processed in our facilities at Bamble. After treatment, the waste oil is used as a substitute for heavy fuel oil or as a raw material for re-refining plants. At a re-refining plant, the waste oil is transformed into base oil. This base oil is used by blending companies in the production of new lubricating oil.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A substantial amount of the tax collected by the Norwegian government for lubricating oil is refunded to the country’s waste oil system. This means that one can get paid for delivering used lubricating oil. It is therefore important to keep used lubricating oil separated from other waste oil.
